Kite Weeks: the ultimate in adventure sports travel

Namotu Guy Kite2

From exclusive island retreats to remote camping destinations, join Ben for the trip of a lifetime!

Spending years as a professional kitesurfer, Ben has been around the world and back many times over. He's travelled to some of the finest surf and kite destinations on the planet and knows where to find a wave or two. Ben is now hosting his own trips, sharing his favourite spots with other kiters and creating incredible travel experiences for everyone.

Namotu Island, Fiji

For Ben, Namotu Island is where it all began and the place he calls his second home. This is where he first learned to kiteboard and realised he could merge his love of surfing and kiting to create kitesurfing as we know it today. Now, fifteen years later, Ben hosts his own kite camps where he can share his favourite place and his skills with guests from around the world. Partners and non-kiters are catered for with additonal activites, comfortable accommodation and great food. From first time kiters to advanced wave riders, this trip is for anyone wanting to spend time in the water and meet an incredible group of people.

Solosports in PUNTA San Carlos, Mexico

This lonely stretch of coasline along the California Coast in Baja, Mexico is renowned for it's long and friendly waves and consistent wind that's perfect for kiting and windsurfing. The waves here are world-class and ideal for stepping up your kiting. SoloSports' owner and operator, Kevin Trejo set up camp here in the 80s and although there's still not much around, Kevin, 'takes the rough, out of roughin it.' This trip is all about the location and Ben's coaching sessions; if you're serious about working on your wave riding, this camp is for you. The SoloSports Kite Week povides an ultra-accessible escape, just a quick hop across the border from San Diego plus all sports equipment is provided so you don't need to bring a thing (well almost). This trip suits intermediate to advanced kiters.

The Coral Coast is situated on the south-eastern (windward) side of Fiji's Viti Levu island, about 2 hours' drive from Nadi International Airport. The area is renowned for consistent Trade Winds throughout July-September and offers a multitude of surf breaks ideal for both surfing and kiting. Ben has been fishing, surfing and kiting along the Coral Coast for over 15 years and first went to Matanivusi a couple of years ago after becoming intrigued by the area's potential as a kite destination.

Matanivusi offers world-class kitesurfing downwinders, surf-kiting, flat-water kiting and surfing all set amid beautiful rainforest accommodation. Immerse yourself in Fijian culture and spend your days on the water. There are huge areas of incredible kiting and so much to see in this part of Fiji and when there's no wind there's great surf at Frigates, Pipe, Shifties, J’s and Vunaniu which provide an excellent mix of lefts and rights. This trip suits intermediate/advanced kitesurfers and their non-kiting partners.
