Fishing on Namotu with Local Knowledge

It’s not just kiting and surfing on Namotu Island, Fiji - the fishing is also world class and one of my biggest passions. There’s nothing I love more than sharing these passions with other people from around the world, so back in January I hosted Rush and Ali from US-based fishing show, Local Knowledge for a week on Namotu.

We fished for yellowfin, marlin, mahi mahi and more, giving the guys a taste for the variety and bounty within such close proximity of the Island. The beauty of Namotu is no matter what watersport you want to do, it’s at your fingertips. And seriously good.

If fishing is your thing or you’d like to see more of Namotu Island then check out these episodes. Shot in January 2020 they showcase a different time of year to the Kite Weeks that tends towards glassier days and smaller swells with ideal fishing conditions. If you’d like to join me fishing you can check out the fishing charters or Fish Weeks on Namotu where I am one of the hosts.
