The end of an era: BWSURF to stop making kite gear

It’s been over 10 years since BWSurf began; a wild ride that was the realisation of my dream to produce kites and boards specifically for the surf. Our goal was to reach the surf market and show them that wind doesn’t have to be the enemy and the kite can unlock a new way to experience the ocean and waves.

We made incredible products, travelled to amazing places and recruited some of the best surfers around to represent our brand. It was tough, it was exciting and it was my passion.

But it wasn’t without some serious challenges. From manufacture to actually convincing surfers to pick up a kite. And now a global pandemic has been the final straw that’s forced my decision.

I want to thank everyone who’s been a part of BWSurf over the years and please know I am not going anywhere! Kite Weeks are my primary focus now and I cannot wait until we can travel again. This downtime is only giving me more time to cook up new ideas, expand and improve. The future is exciting so while one chapter is ending, the book is not over yet.
