Unlimited Weeks

9 massive weeks of kiting, winging, surfing, foiling, SUPing and freediving have just finished. We had an incredible season and each year gets a little bigger and a little better.

Watch the videos from each week on the Namotu Youtube channel and see all the info for next year’s trips on the website. If you’re interested in joining one of these trips next year, please jump on the waitlist or email me for more info.

Unlimited Week 1: We had a good mixed of everything this week, surf, kite, wing, foil, but the highlight was the 3 straight days of long period ground swell for surfing and foiling. Sunday afternoon when everyone arrived we had a great wind afternoon and then not really any wind until late Thursday afternoon. The foiling & surfing from Tuesday-Thursday was pretty amazing with sheet glass most of the days. The fish were biting with some epic eating quality deep drop fish, a few yellowfin/wahoo & Mahi and all the other activities from beginner foiling, breath hold sessions, snorkeling, free diving, spear fishing, coaching clinics, yoga, ice baths & island hops were all incredible.

Unlimited Week 2: As always we had the most amazing group of people join us including Owen Wright and Jacob Wilcox with the winners of the Rip Curl Virtual Search. Swell-wise it was pretty small with only fun to average size waves right until the end of the week where a nice short period swell filled in. The trade winds were pretty light all week with only one really good afternoon in the waves and the rest of the time only light wind foiling and winging! And of course lots of fish and heaps of prone/tow foiling + all the usual activities with the breath hold and ice bath sessions being a huge highlight again!

Unlimited Week 3/Family Week: Family weeks are seriously the best!!! Watching the next generation send it on all the water sports we love is pretty amazing. Conditions wise there was fun waves most of the week, but with a couple of funky onshore wind days not really strong enough to kite, but enough to wreck the waves! We did however have a couple of great trade wind afternoons with the best session of all the weeks thus far at Namotu lefts in the waves! The groms were going hard with all kinds of activities in and around the water with the highlight being Mick Fanning taking a moment out from getting drained at cloudy to push some of the groms into some waves.

Unlimited week 5: HOLY WIND AND WAVES!!! And probably one of the coldest days we’ve ever experienced here in Fiji, it was wet, windy and huge but we still all had the times of our lives! The week started out with an epic day of glassy waves and all the surf spots firing and then the wind kicked in and didn’t stop with a good sized long period ground swell finishing out the week and delivering us some amazing winging and kiting in the waves. We battled the elements with all the other activities and made it happen but it was hard unless you were a wind lover.

Unlimited week 6: Another amazing week of wind & waves! We started out with some beautiful small glassy conditions which was incredible for some foiling, surfing and just enjoying the island. Then the swell and wind really kicked in with some big long period groundswell and windy stormy challenging conditions for both step offs/surfing, wing and kite moments in some big waves! It was a tough end of the week for the more entry level crew and non wind sport frothers, but we still had some fun times with a few adventures to some more protected secret spots to find waves and do some down winders! The more experienced crew sent it hard all day every day with some epic moments! Without the commitment of our legendary Fiji staff and all talented coaches the weeks just wouldn’t be possible, so a huge thanks to them all!

Unlimited week 7: Fun waves, but no wind! However on the Sunday when everyone arrived we did get a light wind afternoon for all the wind sports crew to get a taste, but after that it was glassy, glassy and more glassy! The conditions were pretty amazing for all our first timer surfers & foilers and we went pretty hard all week maximising all surf and foil opportunities with all the other fun activities like island hops, scuba, snorkel, yoga, spear fishing, free dive & breath hold thrown in-between. The highlight would have been the fun sized semi-long period swell that kicked in towards the end of the week making all breaks fire in some dreamy conditions with some of the crew surfing Wilkes, lefts, pools and Tavi rights all in the same day!

Unlimited Week 8: This week was the ultimate mix of conditions and action. We started out with 3 great days of trade winds for all the windsport enthusiasts with some fun waves and a downwinder including a stop at Cloudbreak! And even a Musket Cove sand bar mission for the beginner kite/wingers. After that, the week turned into surfing and foiling heaven with a nice swell filling in and pretty much all of the breaks firing at some point. There wasn’t much time for anything else but as usual Kyron had some incredible breath hold and free dive moments with some of the crew.

Unlimited week 9: We started our final week for the year off with one of the best days of kitesurfing over the past few months with some amazing conditions at both Cloudbreak and Namotu lefts in some solid surf. But within one day it turned from a wind sport person's dream to their biggest nightmare with dead glassy conditions kicking in for the remainder of the week. Lucky for us we had a long period ground swell that settled in for the rest of the week making all the spots fire for both surfing and foiling. Some of the crew were calling the best foil waves of their lives at one of our secret spots! And all the other activities were pumping as normal with so many crew trying some sports for the very first time including foiling, breath-hold, freediving, spearfishing, ocean swims, fishing and surfing.
